Free Knitting Pattern - Flower Scarf

Autumn is past, and the winter is coming.  Yarn stalls always attract a lot of young girl and almost everyone find knitting more enjoyable than crochet.

They favourite pattern is flower knitting pattern. It is very easy to knit a scarf or a hat.

Follow the instructions below to help you to make hand-knit gifts for relatives

Color Blue: Cast on 31 stitches (or other multiple of 6 stitches +1) and work in star stitch till desired length.

Row 1 Color Pink:  (RS): Slip 1 *A 5, Slip 1, repeat from*

Row 2 Color Pink : Slip 1, * B , Slip 1, repeat from*

Row 3 + 4 Color Aqua :  Knit all stitches.

Row 5 Color Pink: Slip 4 , * A 5, Slip 1, repeat from*,... Last slip 4

Row 6 Color Pink: Slip 4, * B , Slip 1, repeat from*,... Last Slip 4.

Row 7+ 8 Color Aqua: Knit all stitches

Repeat these 8 rows.

Notes:

-Vary yarn and needle size to get the fabric you want.

-When deciding how many stitches to cast on for the width you want, keep in mind that scarves tend to stretch lengthwise and thus become narrower when worn.

-This stitch is not reversible; there is a right side and wrong side.

Abbreviations:

A: knit to last stitch wrapping yarn tiwice around needle for each stitch

B: Pass next 5 stitches to right-hand needle dropping extra loops, pass these 5 stitches back to left- hand needle, k1, p1, k1, p1, k1 through 5 stitches tog

Cowl Scarf - Best Choice For Little Teen Girl

Physically, I am medium height, medium weight. I think cowl scarf seems to be the most appropriate choice to me.

 I'm totally not bored with watching these pictures below. All so beautiful.

Now, I'm knitting a cowl scarf. It is a entrelac knitting pattern with stockinette stitch. It should be done in the next couple of days. I will update later.

Wide Shawl For Warm Winter

With thwide shawl, I am sure you will be so warm in this winter. It also seems to bring a youthful appearance. 

Dominant colors are white and shades of gray. It may be suitable with all of your clothes.

If your height are not tall enough, you should  wear high heels shoes and boots. Because wearing high heels can make you look slimmer.

Garter Stitch Entrelac Scarf

Entrelac is a knitting method that involves building squares and triangles off of other squares and triangles by implementing the use of short rows, increases, decreases and picking up stitches. I especially love entrelac .

It is not so very hard to knit this entrelac scarf. I worked for two days in the morning.  This scarf has so many attaching knots. It looks discouraging! But I am pleased with the result.

Garter stitch entrelac scarf is not as beautiful as stockinette stitch scarf.  :(

The following is the detailed instructions.

Materials: Soft yarn, 200 g
Needles: No.7 or 8
Cable needles 

Knitting scarf seems bit hard to knit.

Examples:

Wrap yarn 3 times around 3 stitches

Wrap yarn 2 times around 3 stitches,  the center stitch is a purl stitch

Wrap yarn 3 times around 5 stitches

Cast on 25 stitches.

With first color, cast on 36 sts.

TIER 1 -- Base Triangles (make 3)
P2, turn.
K2, turn.
P3, turn.
K3, turn.
Purl 1 more st each time from left hand needle until all 12 sts are on right hand needle. Do not turn.
Leave these sts and work two more base triangles.

TIER 2 – First Row of Blocks
Change to next color. The first row of Blocks has side triangles.
First side triangle:
K2, turn.
P2, turn.
Kfb, k1, skp turn.
P4, turn.
Dec 1 st each time from base triangle on k rows.
Continue until “kfb, k9, skp” has been worked. Do not turn; leave these 12 sts.
First Block
Pick up and k12 sts from row-ends of base triangle, turn.
P12, turn.
K11, skp, turn, p12.
Continue in this manner until all sts of base triangle have been decreased. Do not turn.
Work a Second Block between second and third triangles.
Second side triangle:
Pick up and k12 sts from row-ends of last base triangle, turn.
P2tog, p10, turn.
K11, turn.
P2tog, p9, turn, k10.
Continue decreasing at beg of every purl row until one st remains.
Turn, slip st onto left hand needle.

TIER 3 – Second Row of Blocks
Change to next color. The second row of Blocks does not have side triangles.
First Block
P1, pick up and p11 sts, turn.
K12, turn.
P11, p2tog, turn, k12.
Continue in this manner until all sts of First Row of Blocks has been decreased, do not turn.
Work second and third blocks in this manner.
SUBSEQUENT TIERS
Alternate Tier 2 and Tier 3 until there are 12 (15) of Tier 2 and 11 (14) of Tier 3.

TIER 4 -- Completing the Entrelac
Work the next row of Blocks is the same as the First Row of Blocks but working into the Second Row of Blocks instead of into base triangles.
Closing Triangles
Change to first color.
P1, pick up and p 11 sts from row-ends of side triangle, turn.
K12, turn.
P2tog, p9, p2tog, turn.
K11, turn.
P2tog, p8, p2tog, turn.
K10, turn.
Continue in this manner until “turn, k2” has been worked.
Turn, p1, k2tog, turn, k2, turn, p3tog – 1 st remains.
Picking up and purling 11 sts from row-ends of Blocks, work second and third closing triangles.

FINISHING
Border: With RS facing, using MC and circular needle, pick up 203 (254) sts (16 sts in each triangle and 1 between triangles) along one long edge.
(WS) Work in Garter st, inc 1 st (slip first st and inc 1 st in second st) at beg of each row 13 times.
(RS) Change to A and work 3 more rows in the same manner -- 219 (270) sts.  Bind off.
Rep for opposite long edge.
Short Edge: With RS facing, using MC and circular needle, pick up 50 sts along one short edge and work in the same manner as long edge border. Bind off 66 sts.
Rep for opposite short edge.
Seam edges to form mitres.
Using yarn needle, weave in ends. Steam lightly

Meandering Rib Scarf by Lion Brand Yarn

Bundle up in this wool scarf with a twist. The wavy pattern is a great alternative to a normal cable or ribbed scarf.

GAUGE: 25 stitches + 30 rows = 4 in. (10 cm) in Stockinette stitch (Knit on right side, Purl on wrong side). BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

It's A Plain But Very Elegant Scarf For Man

I intend to knit a scarf for boyfriend.  And yesterday I also found a pattern for a beautiful scarf on the internet

 

 It's a pity that knitting pattern is only chart pattern.

 I am having some difficulty with this scarf pattern. what's C2 over 2 right and c2 over 2 left mean? Look forward to receiving your instruction !!!

Fair Isle Rapids by Kieran Foley

I am so much amazed with beautiful scarves design by Kieran Foley that I just want to knit them right then. But it's too difficult and there are lots of obstacles for me. A beautiful design  always asks for a high-level knitting skill and fussy in every detail.
So in order to make a scarf from a given design one should contribute a lot of time and pain-taking work. 
I envy his ability to knit.

This is one of my favorite patterns.

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
Length: 45 inches
Width: 10.5 inches
MATERIALS
Debbie Bliss Rialto [100% Merino wool; 115 yd/105m per 50g skein]
[MC] #23018 Blue; 3 skeins
[CC] #23006 Beige; 2 skeins

Recommended needle size:

1 set US #6/4mm straight needles

[always use a needle size that gives you the gauge listed below -- every knitter's gauge is unique]

GAUGE

24 sts/23 rows = 4 inches in pattern

Note: Gauge given is approximate. It is not critical to achieve given gauge for this project.

M1L: Insert left needle from front to back under the horizontal strand which lies between the st just worked, and the next st. Knit into the back of this loop.

M1R: Insert left needle from back to front under the horizontal strand which lies between the st just worked, and the next st. Knit into the front of this loop.

SKP: Sl 1 knitwise, k1, pass slipped st over.

1x1 Rib (Worked over an odd number of sts):
Row 1 [RS]: [K1, p1] to last st, k1.
Row 2 [WS]: [P1, k1] to last st, p1.
Repeat these 2 rows for 1x1 Rib.

Using MC, CO 65 sts.
Work 5 rows in 1x1 Rib.
Next Row [WS]: P all sts.
Work Rows 1-20 of chart 12 times, or until scarf is desired length. Note that the stitch count will remain constant throughout, EXCEPT Rows 9-12 will have only 63 sts.
When all repeats of chart are complete, break CC.

Next Row [RS]: K all sts.
Work 5 rows in 1x1 Rib.
BO all sts in patter
